At Microelettrica Dresden, we pride ourselves on a tradition of excellence in power resistor manufacturing that spans over a century. Our German-made products range from band resistors to load banks, including compact resistors, brake resistors, frame resistors, steel grid resistors, and neutral grounding resistors

Our Heritage

Our journey began in 1904 with the founding of a company by master mechanic Oscar Heine, initially to produce arc smoothing resistors. Rapidly, we transcended our role as a primary supplier for the Dresden-based cinema equipment industry, becoming the foremost German manufacturer of specialized resistors.

Post-War Era and Beyond

IIn the post-war, we continued to innovate and grow, marking significant milestones in our history. In 1972, Oscar HEINE KG was nationalized, establishing us as a pivotal manufacturer of special resistors in Eastern Europe. The winds of change in 1990 brought reprivatization and our registration as HEINE Spezialwiderstände GmbH—a nod to a pivotal year for Europe.

Global Expansion

In 2003, as part of our global expansion strategy, we were renamed HEINE Resistors GmbH. But that was not enough. In order to better meet international demand, our wholly-owned subsidiary, Microelettrica HEINE (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. China has been represented us in Asia since the end of 2005.

A New Chapter

January 2012 marked a new chapter when Microelettrica Scientifica S.p.A., a member of the German Knorr Bremse Group, acquired 100% of HEINE Resistors GmbH, completing its range of resistor products.
