ECOMeter Light

´╗┐General Characteristics

ECOMeter LIGHT is a metering device which measures the train feed line voltage and current and calculate the consumed and regenerated energy then allows transferring the information to the traction control unit (TCU) through an interface adapter device named ECOBox or to the ground through an interface adapter device named ECOCom. This device can provide the detection of DC or AC catenary voltage system.

The device provides a digital fiber optic communication to the expansion box in order to elaborate and convert the measured data according to the requested traction control unit interface with a negligible delay time.

The line voltage and the line current are measured and the energy value is calculated in compliance with EN 50463-2. According to EN50463 these

functionalities are called voltage measurement function (VMF) current measurement function (CMF) and energy calculation function (ECF). The

combination of these three functions is called energy measurement function (EMF). All these functions are integrated in the device.

The energy data is transferred via a digital interface to a data handling system (DHS) to create and storage the Compiled Energy Billing Data (CEBD).

Available options:

  • 1 O.F. Communication
  • 1 CAN Bus
  • 1 Electrical Frame
  • 1 Ethernet communication
  • 4 Digital outputs configurable

Environmental Performances:

The ECOMeter LIGHT is suitable for railway rolling stock application, designed to be installed inside the vehicle.

The device is compliant with all regulations of the rail market. All the components are homologated for the industrial temperature range (from -40°C to +85°C - Class OT4 - EN 50125-1) and ensures proper function in the worst environmental conditions.

Electrical Performances:

The device is characterized by very low energy consumption and the auxiliary power supply nominal range is 24÷110 Vdc.

The ECOMeter accuracy is 2% (optional 0,5R) for current and voltage measurement according to the standard EN50463.
