RESISTORS FOR RAILWAY APPLICATIONS

FROM NUCLEAR ENERGY TO ELECTRIC TRACTION

Microelettrica commenced the manufacture of resistors in 1960. In just a few years the range covered large resistors for neutral point earthing and for industrial load banks. The knowledge and experience was then used successfully in the supplay of high power resistors for the most important nuclear fusion research laboratories.
The additional experience resulting from these research contracts, made it possible for Microelettrica to bring exceptional skills to the design of resistors for electric traction. As a result, Microelettrica Scientifica traction resistors have been supplied to railways and underground systems throughout the world for various applications.
All components are designed and manufactured for an active life of over 25 years and are expected to operate under the most severe conditions, including extreme environmental temperatures, shocks and contnuous vibration, polluted atmospheres, rain, snow and ice.
