In the 90’s Microelettrica gained the fist major contracts on the European Market both in traction and industrial application and to further expand its market decided to establish subsidiary companies in Europe, South Africa and USA.
On board meters have been added to product range from the mid of 90’s, while DC traction substations came in the early 2000’s. They were previously hosted in a separated company but have been merged in the electronic division.
In 2002 the Resistor Division moved to Lacchiarella.
As of 2005 Microelettrica Scientifica is a member of Knorr-Bremse Group, the German world leader in rail and commercial vehicles braking systems.
Nowadays Microelettrica Scientifica continues to grow also also by opening local assembly facilities in India and China within Knorr Bremse factories and by the acquisition of Officine de Zan, a frame manufacturing facility and EMC Traction, one of the worldwide leading companies in the design and production of DC Circuit Breakers and DC Switchgears.
